When it comes to toys, we tend to opt for ones made out of wood. It’s part of our commitment to caring for the planet, but I also just prefer them. They tend to look nicer, and I think it’s easier for me to teach my son the value of treating his belongings with care and respect when they’re a little more fragile.

One of our favorite wood toy manufacturers is PlanToys. Not only do they make great-looking toys, but their commitment to the environment extends beyond the products they make to their business practices.

I recently reviewed the PlanToys 30 Construction Set, a 30-piece set that allows your child to build different objects using nuts and bolts. Unfortunately, this toy did not quite live up to my expectations because I found it difficult to use and poorly constructed. You can read my full review here.
